When you grow up in Forks, Washington, you get used to certain things: the rain that sounds like it has its own agenda, the way fog clings to the trees like it's guarding secrets, and the quiet- not the peaceful kind but the sort that makes you feel like the whole town is holding its breath.

Because there's a difference between thinking you know someone and finding out their world isn't what you thought. And the more time I spent around Jake... the more I realized his world was bigger, stranger, and far more dangerous than I'd imagined.

I just didn't know yet that mine was about to become part of it.
