Penelope Featherington, a 31-years-old from Galway, lives in a cosy flat in Mayfair, with her five-years-old son Nikos Debling. His father- Pen's ex husb- Alfred Debling, is a geologist from Bristol, who left for a long expedition in Alaska.

At Saint Anne's Primary, Colin Bridgerton, a 33-years-old- is the new substitute literature teacher, born in Mayfair. He share with his ex wife Marina, custody of their two children, Oliver and Amanda (8-years-old twins).
