"Why did you save me?" I blew out a hot breath as I ran my hand through my hair. "Besides the fact that we are chained together, I don't know." We stayed quiet as we weaved our way through the forest. "So what's the plan for when we get back to Atheria?"
"Well you have a throne to sit on and I have a pain in my ass to deal with. When we get back I guess I'll have to hunt you down." She lets her brown hair fall into her eyes, eyes so blue I drown. "Is it strange that I don't want to hate you. That in some universe we could maybe not hate each other."
The sun peeks through the trees creating shadows. Mine held a knife to a king's throat, hers was crowned in shadow.
"No, I don't think it's strange."
