Prologue: Rebirth

Loraine "Lori" Carson was not supposed to be alive. She had been mistaken for a failed subject of Valentine Allegra De Fontaine's superhero project of sorts. She was orphaned at infancy, finding herself alone for all 22 years of her life. She had originally signed up for the trial with no intention of waking back up. She desired a sense of purpose, but struggled to find it. By some miracle, Loraine found herself awake, and different. She was thrown into the "New Avengers" almost instantaneously, not even knowing the power she possessed within her. Will she help her new team save the world? Or will she become the very thing the world needs saving from?
