You moved to the 20th ward as one of your parents last wishes, they wanted you to move away from your old home in the 11th ward because that's were most of the ghoul killings were. They just wanted you to be safe and away from most of the ghouls, but their efforts are useless once you meet Kaneki and get thrown back into the ghoul world.
