I said good bye to my mom and grabbed my lunch. My dad was already gone to his office, it's like he lives there. I grabbed a granola bar and headed out the door to wait for the bus. 3 minutes later I hear the roar of the engine from down the road. I stand at the end until the doors open up in front of me. "Good morning" my bus driver says. "Hello Linda" I reply. I unwrap the granola bar and bite into it chewing slowly as I look through Instagram and wait for Kenzie to get on the bus. 7:03 AM *Ding Ding* -Kenzie: won't be coming to school, I have a fever :(. - -Me: aw, ok. I will text you after school, feel better!- I stuff the wrapper into my backpack and take a sip of water. I lean back and my heart starts to race. It is that feeling you get when something really bad is going to happen. Before I know it, the bus is pulling into the parking lot. I stand up and throw my bag over my arm and start to walk off the bus.
