Apart from the occasional math test, he knew no hardship. His only fear is that one day a Peacekeeper will discover how the children all run past the District border to play. The Hunger Games were terrible, but they were a distant kind of terrible. One that his father had endured a lifetime ago. One that brought him a new friend or neighbor each year.
