Alex Hart grew up in Sunnydale, close friends with Xander and Willow, but her life took a dark turn when Darla turned her into a vampire, believing Alex could be a valuable ally. Refusing to serve the Master, Alex fled and sought the help of a witch who created a magical ring that allowed her to walk in daylight, helping her cling to her humanity. Living in secrecy, Alex avoided the vampire underworld and hid her true nature from her friends and Buffy Summers. When her secret was finally exposed, Alex had to fight to prove she wasn't like the monsters Buffy hunted, struggling to balance her inner darkness with her desire to protect the people she loves.
