Ruth, a 16-year-old Cuban girl, leaves everything behind to emigrate to Italy with her family. In a country that feels anything but welcoming, she pours her thoughts into a journal, hiding it in her favorite spot-until one day, she finds someone else's handwriting on its pages.
Diego, a 17-year-old Calabrian boy, is on the run from a war he wants no part of. Hiding in the wilderness, he stumbles upon a journal filled with questions that seem to call out to him.
What begins as an exchange of words between strangers soon becomes something neither of them expected.
