Chapter 1

Maggie Donoville lives in what everyone thinks is the 'perfect' family. Her parents are rich, she goes to the best schools around the country, she can do anything she puts her mind to, but thats not what she wants. She tries her hardest to separate herself from her parents grasp, trying to gain independence, but the only thing she is gaining is the gap between her and her parents. During the summer before she heads off to college, her parents make one last attempt to bring the family together; they plan a trip to Venice. Maggie protests and argues but there is no stopping her parents. So Maggie finds herself stuck in Venice for a month with her all too excited parents. Maggie tries to cope, but after just a week, she cannot handle the prison any longer and runs off into the maze of streets deep into Venice. There she meets a mysterious boy, one who just doesn't seem to remember her, no matter how many times she runs into him.
