Chioni Nifada is an unusual girl; she is quiet, struggles to understand and express emotions, organizes her food, and follows her daily routine to the letter. Her best friend-Ilios Lampsi, is the complete opposite; she is loud, expressive, messy, and disorganized. Chioni and Ilios have been best friends for years.

Chioni's mother is worried about her quirks and sends her to a boarding school for year ten to help her learn to interact with people better. Chioni's new roommate isn't as accommodating as Ilios and finds her quirks irritating.
