Chapter 1

"I silently scream to myself to not flinch and remain calm, no sudden movements, but it’s like my limbs have minds of their own. I keep moving forward until the barrel grazes the spot between my eyebrows. Bucky is staring straight at me- no, through me, as if I’m just a wispy remnant of something that used to be human. I swallow painfully, and part my lips to say one word: “Bucky.”"
