Katy Thomas is a 16 year old junior in high school. She has a best friend and is happy...that is until her mom tells her they have to move to a house near her Aunt, due to financial problems. Katy is devastated, until she meets Sylvia, a girl in her school, and Valentine, a beautiful horse.
