"We are gathered here today for the public execution of the Leywin family!" King Glayder announced. I saw his mouth moving, but the words felt distant, like they never truly reached my ears. "No... No! NO! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?! THESE PEOPLE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! THEY AREN'T EVEN MY REAL PARENTS!" I screamed, pleading desperately as I turned to King Alduin. But when his eyes avoided mine, all hope drained from my soul. "I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry, Mom... Dad... that you got dragged into all of this," I said, my voice cracking as tears streamed down my face. I expected them to look at me with hatred-for what I had done, for what I was. But when I looked up at them, their expressions stopped me in my tracks. Despite the situation, their faces held warm yet sorrowful smiles. "We're so sorry, Arthur, for not accepting you... We lov-" Their words were cut short, unfinished, as King Glayder lowered his arm. In one swift motion, their heads fell lifelessly to the ground. My mind went blank. I couldn't move, couldn't breathe, as I watched the crimson flood spill from their necks, pooling beneath their bodies. All I could do was stare as the nightmare unfolded before me.
