Chapter 1: Shadows in the Dark

Set in the late 1980s, the story follows a small team of criminal profilers and detectives from a newly formed Behavioral Science Unit (BSU) as they delve into the psychology of serial killers. As they study and interview infamous criminals, they uncover disturbing patterns that lead them to a chilling realization: a highly intelligent serial killer is operating in their vicinity, mimicking the behaviors of those they're studying.
