in an alternate timeline Jeremy [from team fortress 2] ends up becoming one of the test subjects at aperture labs. A particular little piece of tech takes a liking to him. the hardships, loneliness and oppression of their situation force them to realize their feelings for one another, but nothing is ever that simple.
