"Perhaps a political contract," I said with a smirk, recalling how he forced me into this marriage, leaving us no choice. Mew laughed maniacally. "No, Gulf, it's not that." I was confused. If not for politics, then why? He doesn't have the heart to love me, and even if he did, I would never reciprocate. Suddenly, he grabbed my shoulders harshly. "I married you because I overheard you telling your friends that you hate me the most," he paused, his eyes growing even darker, "and that you'd prefer to marry the one who kills me." I was shocked. How did he know? I had said that in my chamber palace were no one allowed without my permission as I am not married that time. How did he find out? I looked at him, stunned.
