The first sliver of sadness creeps into his heart. Behind the dome is the life that the always led, the life of his mother and brother, but he knows he can't stay. He can't go back. There is nothing for him on that side of the Wall, so with a sad smile and a tip of his head, he whispers a solemn apology to his mother who will never know the truth about her son.
