The orphanage was trying to kill him. It wouldn't get him. He would fight to survive every day in that hell, even if that meant running to the winged statue of the girl with twisted horns. There were no angels, not when God turned away from him. But why did he hear a voice in his dreams, feel those bat-like wings surrounding him, keeping him safe?
