Character Analysis

Due to the nature of interpersonal relationships, Lia feels that she is all alone as she is neglected by her mother and has no father. The problems in Lia's life worsen as her friends, such Elliot and Sarah, attempt to intervene. Her mother is becoming more involved with alcohol and Lia feels even more alone. Finally, Lia's hopelessness results to a suicidal act, which is evidenced by a scar that physically represents the passage of her ordeal.
