Layla is a sleep-deprived, overworked student of the Akademiya with more anxiety than anyone should reasonably have.

She is also- without her knowledge- the reincarnation of Bennu, the Most Radiant, one of the Seven Sages of the Scarlet King.

But all wisdom comes to light eventually. As she spends more time with Kaveh and Al-Haitham, she realizes that maybe... in a former samsara... she was someone else.
