After slaying the last of the hunters the heavens gave Cale immortality, and powers believing it to be a reward befitting of him defeating the hunters but to Cale it was a curse.
And now some unknown god transports him into a world to heal- which he did - but at the same time got him wrapped up in a whole other war.
