The old earworm about ivory and ebony seems to be a tribute to the piano, but when Paul and Stevie wrote the song back in 1983, they probably had something else in mind than a music instrument. However, this story describes a relationship that are close to the piano, but although the harmony is perfect, discord quickly arises among the audience!
