Briana always had clear two things in her life: she wanted to be a doctor and she wanted to find her prince charming. Many people considered the combination somewhat challenging, because balancing a demanding medical career with a long-lasting relationship was difficult, but even then Briana was sure that she could make it work. She thought she had accomplished her dreams when she married Derek Shepherd, a neurosurgeon who understood perfectly the sacrifices that being a doctor had. She specialized in pediatrician and she had a wonderful husband. Her life was perfect, and she couldn't ask for more. She believed she had found the one she had dreamed of for so long However, complications arose when they had their first daughter, and that's when the real problems began.. Briana tried to convince herself that it was only a stage of their marriage, that everything woould be okay and the change wouldn't affect their lives, but her hopes broke apart when two months after she went to Seattle to work on a case she had. When Briana got to Seattle, she found out that Derek had been lying to her face the entire time, that Derek wasn't there only for a job but also because he was having an affair with an intern that seemed to be more perfect than her. It was in that moment when Briana doubted her dream, because it seemed no longer true, like she was just living in a fantasy and the perfect prince charming and her perfect life was never there. But she held on into that fantasy, fighting to repair a broken marriage, trying to bring back whatever life they had, until the damage was too big to not notice... and she let go.
