His rough fingertips brushed against the back of my neck as he pulled me closer to him, so close that I could see the freckles lightly dusting across the bridge of his nose and cheeks.

I could smell the mint gum he had been chewing earlier mixed in with something else I couldn't quite put my finger on. As his face got closer to me my heart didn't flutter like everyone says it does, if anything it was going really slow.

His evergreen eyes looked up at me as he raised his eyebrow a little, "You ready?"
