The people battling for their own territory in pursuit of Lord Zatara's one and only gift are the selected. And the ability to govern over the four nations will belong to whoever finds and inherits the zatara gift. Amaya was the known polemistis General Kinsper's daughter. She was intrigued and intended to carry on her father's mission since she thought she would be blessed. It appears that her choice to participate in the trials casts doubt on her life.
