to new beginnings

Violet Holden never expected her life to even remotely resemble that of a movie star's, but she had hoped she would have amounted to something by the time she was out of college. Before, she used to spend her days at a desk, flipping though textbooks trying to pass an overpriced class; now her days are filled with endless hours in front of her typewriter.

Her life seemed completely and utterly dull until a boy with a permanent scowl, dark gaze and an even darker jacket moved in next door. Now her head is filled with wishful thinking, and embellished dreaming that obscures her perception of the unwinding world within the high-rise.

My adaptation of J. G Ballard's novel and soon to be movie, HIGH-RISE, written in the Ballardian style.
