Preface

Elin has spent her youth proving herself as a warrior. Recognizing this the gods grant her a wolf pelt possessed by the spirt Hedda. Once their souls intertwine, Elin becomes a fierce werewolf warrior. As a hound of the gods, she protects humans from the monsters that roam the earth. On her first night patrolling the boundaries of their territory, she hears a blood curdling scream from a human. She battles a formidable Draugr in her wolf form to save the human but ends up gravely injured.

When she wakes in the infirmary, she realizes the last object she has of her mother, an amulet, was stolen by the monster. The object means enough to Elin that she is willing to go on a treacherous journey to retrieve it. However, there is one thing that she had not counted on. The man she saved, Dorian, wants nothing more than to repay his debt to her for saving his life. No matter what she does to shake him, he follows her.

During this journey, she teaches him the ways of the spiritual world. She planned on making sure that he was not completely useless on the journey. However, she cannot shake the feelings stirring in her chest: trust, anger, friendship, revenge, perhaps lust. But never love. Love only ends with suffering.
