Darcy is afraid of human contact, and the only reason seems to stem from the mysterious bruises covering her body. Lucas is an old man in a teenagers body, raising himself and constantly needing to take care of others--especially his mom. Jonathan feels alone even when he's with people, everyday sinking further into his own sea of despair. Ella just wants to be like everyone else, but no matter how hard she tries, she can't escape who she is. Isaac is so far in the closet that he can't even see the door, which is good, because if he could, he would only see his fathers judgmental face. Jordan can't control himself- no matter how many pills he takes or how hard he focuses- he just can't stay calm. Clare can't bare to be anything less than perfect, which is no surprise considering the amount of pressure her parents and sister put on her shoulders.
