"I'll bring it in tomorrow. It's late," she said, balancing her jacket in the crook of her elbow. She patted Lynette's shoulder gently, nearly lovingly. "I'll be back for a meeting with the Knave."

The scent of her perfume almost made Lyney sick to his stomach as she walked past him to leave. It was strangely sweet and floral. He loathed it just as much as he wished to be covered in it - to smell it always, as if she were around him always.

The door closed without a sound.
