Prologue:

Layla was a recently homeschooled girl who was required to go to at least one year of high school to see if she would like it. Socially awkward and prefers to be home. She doesn't do well in high school. She meets the high school "emo". Jason Orwell who doesn't talk much, has no friends, and seems to hate everyone. Could they get along. Of course they need a push in the form of a dog.
