It was weeks after Icarus had been taken prisoner The wax wings had worked and they had managed to escape from King Minos' castle.
These successful wings attracted Hermes so much that he wanted one of them He asked Daedalus the inventor of these wax wings if he could make one of them for him in return Hermes was going to give he and his son Icarus a kingdom on the island of Ikaria. Daedalus accepted this offer and became the new king of Ikaria.
