*IN PROGRESS* This past December, Dakota graduated the top of her class at the University of Georgia. She gave a speech at winter graduation and her outfit was adorned with an abundance of cords, stoles, and a medal signifying her full-ride scholarship. She graduated a semester early for a few reasons: her 15 college courses in high school allowed her, she wanted to escape the jam-packed schedule she'd maintained the last 3.5 years, and most importantly, to spend time with her family as they navigated extensive health challenges. She is home for seven months in Savannah for a "gap semester" of sorts, with goals of adventure, caretaking, and perhaps finally processing the events of her last 23 years. In July, she'd move to Atlanta to start her dream career in Investment Banking... but it was not her dream city. Someday she'd find a way to make it to New York, but in the meantime close to family is where she's supposed to be. Follow along as she journals the adventures of her college experience. In the "Diary of an Overachiever," Dakota tells of her romantic interests, leadership scares, friendship challenges, high-profile encounters, first sip of alcohol, and the behind the scenes of a girl who seemingly has it all together.
