After the untimely deaths of their Uncle Monty and Aunt Josephine, Mr. Poe deems it unsafe for the Baudelaire orphans to stay with another new guardian and places the children in a juvenile detention center in the middle of nowhere, supposedly far away from the wicked Count Olaf.
