i. Do you feel happy today?

The death of the conqueror leaves the kingdom in the hands of Aenys Targaryen, the elder of the king's two sons. Unfortunately, Aenys lacks his father's governing skills and soon the kingdom crumbles, and the instability this brings means that those resentful of the conquest see their chance to end the dragon's rule. In desperation, Aenys gives in to his brother's demands without measuring the consequences.
