Description
She cut the remnants of the officer's uniform, exposing the severity of the wound. The bullet had torn through muscle and fractured a rib, causing significant damage. Blood oozed from the wound, staining the white sheets. The doctor's mind raced with questions as she continued to tend to the critically injured police officer. What had happened for him to be in such a bad shape? Her thoughts drifted back to the officer's arrival. He had been found conscious, a gunshot wound in his chest. But who had shot him, and why? ---------------------------- "Good morning officer DuPont. I am Dr. Elena Ramirez. How are you feeling?" With a charming smile he tried to speak, his voice laced with a hint of playfulness "Well hello Dr. Ramirez. I've got to admit everything became much brighter the moment I saw you were here." Elena's professional facade momentarily wavered, surprise flickering across her features. She arched an eyebrow, a mixture of amusement and skepticism in her gaze. "Flattery will not get you out of this hospital bed any quicker officer. However, I am glad to see you are in good spirits, that can help with your recovery, which if I may, is my priority" "My mood would improve greatly if you gave me your number doctor, my recovery is your priority after all" Through the pain he gave her a playful smile which wasn't returned by Elena. "Officer, I am here to help you recover. If we could keep the conversation in that direction, it would be greatly appreciated" Elena had a small frown on her face. "No harm in trying, right? I'm certain a bit of flirting might speed up my healing process. Doctor's orders, I'm sure." Alexander tried sitting up on the bed but a sharp pain shot through his whole body.
