Yémi Rowe, a highly intelligent high school dropout, finds herself down on her luck yet again when she's unfairly fired from her job. With two months of overdue rent and her mother's inability to work due to falling ill, Yémi finds herself with her back against the wall. By a stroke of luck, when job hunting, Yémi finds herself reconnecting with her now well-off, old high school best friend and is able to secure a job under false pretenses.
She begins her role as a caretaker for a very sad and mysterious man.
