Yes, sometimes he does meet other companions like Jet. But he never lets himself get attached to them. Last time he did was with an amnesiac being named Chip, and Chip sacrificed himself to save him. And he has a good reason to be so distant. He has another form, named Fleetway, that will kill any friends Sonic made and leave Sonic grief-stricken. He learned of this form whenever he reunited with Sonia and Manic, his two siblings, who he stayed with for a month or two before Fleetway butted in and killed them and his Uncle. But one day, when Sonic was almost killed by someone named Infinite, someone saved him. Three people, named Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose and Tails the Fox saved his life from Infinite. Amy persuaded Sonic to stay with them in their home Green Hills. On that day, he broke his only rule: never get attached.
