Act I

Xiao wasn't a stranger to making oaths. He had pledged once to purge evil through slaughter. However, since then, making promises was something that scared him; since they always seemed to make him lose everything he held dear. So he never promised anything again. Never opened his heart again, or showed vulnerability. After all, any gentleness he had was stripped away from him. Why bother trying to get it back, let alone show it to anyone and risk being hurt once more?

That would change today. Looking down at those blue eyes he loved, he made a promise.

Nothing will ever hurt her again.
