The timeless city of Varanasi

About 2500 years ago, the beautiful Kisa Gotami was born into a family of rich traders in the city of Varanasi, near the river Ganges. Married off at the age of 16, she became a mother of a child at 17. The child suddenly dies at the age of 3. Unable to bear the loss, the young mother carries the dead child in her arms and asks The Buddha to revive her son to life.
