Chapter I

The story was set in the 19th century somewhere in America where marriage of convenience was rampant. Lord Bernard and Lord William both fought in the war, leaving their young children at home. When Lord Bernard was injured, Lord William took care of him and revealed that he had been diagnosed with heart disease since he was a teenager which no one knew of. He just passed falsified documents to join the army. His wife also had left him and his infant baby girl. He wanted someone to take care of his young daughter and as a reciprocation of his goodness, Lord Bernard promised to betroth his daughter to his 5-year-old son, Sebastian when she turns 18.
