The city of Piovadale was known as the Rain Valley City. During bad weather, Andrei Callahan, a first-year university volleyball player, sought shelter from the rain under the roof of Nathaniel Finn Del Rosario, a BS Biology student whose boarding house was just a short walk from the school. Unbeknownst to Andrei, Finn was a Haikyuu fan and admired his volleyball skills.
