She snapped back at him, trying to deflect the situation. He smiled at her before laughing and saying, "Yeah, I guess I'm not." They looked at each other, their expressions softening as they made a mutual agreement. They both weren't meant to be there, but so what? She wasn't going to tell on him, and he wasn't going to tell on her, so it was all okay. They could trust each other, at least a little bit. She hoped. Suddenly, he held out his hand in front of her and asked, "So, may I have this dance?" ♚♕♚ Brynleigh was just another part of the political game, and she was fine with that. The king was cruel. She knew that. So, if being a tool to the revolution meant that she could take him down and give her younger brother a better life, then that was what she was going to be. Her job seemed simple on the surface, even though she knew it wasn't. She just had to figure out how to infiltrate the castle and kill the king, totally a piece of cake.
