Prologue

Silas Fletcher is a depressed teenager, burdened by the pangs of adolescent misery, who's obsessed with theology and the occult. Skye Miller is his best friend, a neurotic girl obsessed with true crime - who he also thinks is totally hot. In an attempt to impress her - and break the icy demilitarized friendzone between them, Silas agrees to go with her on a road trip to investigate the disappearance of The Children of Reconstructed Consciousness - one of the biggest cults of the 1990s. But little do they know, that their world will be spun upside down, as the quest for eternal happiness reveals the secrets of the greatest disappearing act the world has ever seen.
