Part 1

Zhao Yunlan is a detective in a newly formed department dealing with strange crimes, but there are only three officers to start off with and they don't have an office. Chu and Daqing work for him but their loyalty is to the prince who agreed to live here and police his own people who came willingly, or were stranded on this side of the gateway. The new department was his decision but not public knowledge. The story follows the death threats to close the department down by killing Yunlan or anyone else around him. It is also set after the end of the war but before, 'Love Never Dies' when Wei's emotions are a mess and he hides all his pain behind a wall to protect himself.
