"THE FIRST DANCE" After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider, young Peter Parker finds that he now has incredibly enhanced strength, speed and agility. Along with the ability to adhere to any surface, a precognitive spider-sense that warns him of danger and a pair of mechanized web shooters, the idealistic teenager fights against evil as the costumed hero Spider-Man. Set during the decade of the 1990's, this is a Generation X version of the Amazing Spider-Man story. This is a time when young people believed that they had the power to change the world for the better. In order to make a difference, Peter will need to rely on his friends for help and have the courage to believe in good. LAST ISSUE: Four months after acquiring his amazing spider powers, Peter Parker is still unsure of what to do with his life. However, an unexpected trip to Oscorp Tower provides him with more tools needed to fulfill his destiny. A spider-suit and a pair of advanced, high tech webbing shooters. The final motivation comes from the people close to Peter. He soon realizes that these new gifts should be used to help other people and that with great power comes great responsibility. The students of Midtown High School organize a rally at Oscorp Tower to protest their unethical research methods, but get more than they bargain for when a vicious creature called the Lizard attacks! However, Spider-Man arrives on the scene and saves Mary Jane from certain death. He saves her yet again after an explosion destroys the Marvelous Club in New York. After a romantic rooftop kiss, he worries that she may have discovered that Peter Parker is actually Spider-Man!
