everything started 500 years ago when a girl named maribella claire was saved from her mother by the most dangerous family everyoane knows them as the originals. the originals were the first generation of vampires the most powerful creatures ever known. 21 february 1524 the family was running from their father in chicago and found a helpless girl begging her father to stop beating her. out of nowhere her father was screaming and agonizing over and over again she was scared to open her eyes but finally had the courage to do it. the girl saw her father lying on the ground dead after being eaten by some creatures that looked like vampires she was scared, she tried to run but a man stoped her and said "it s okay sweetheart i m not going to hurt u" maribella looked at him and for some reason she felt safe and started hugging him. the man named klaus was stunned by the girl s actions but immediately hugged her back He looked her into her eyes and said "no one will ever hurt you love" she knew he was a monster but she trusted him he introduced his family to her and all of them embraced her they rescued the poor girl and treated like she was part of their family. they cared for her and loved her
