Description

Divya almost dies. Almost. But she's given a second chance at life by the Afterlife Agency. But second chances are only great if the person is ready to accept it. But for Divya, the living world is a dry, monotonous nightmare. Get up, go to her shitty client management job at the shitty marketing agency, get taken for granted so much she could put it in a separate section on her resume, get home, eat some measly dinner, and try to sleep. The same bus route, the same coworkers whom she tries too hard to talk to, the same office, the same air-conditioned room that gives her a headache, it was the same thing every day without fail. So, getting a second chance at life was one thing. But knowing how to make use of it was another. And she has no plans to leave limbo. She's finally had a day that's different than her last 3 years and finally found friends in Niranjan, the sour-faced grim reaper, and Manish, the time traveler who loves to shout. Why should she go back to her life? But staying comes at a steep cost. The longer she stays, the more difficult it will be to return to her life. And that means losing her parents, her dear ones, and other parts of her life, she may not have realized mattered to her as much. TW: Not explicit, but references to depression & suicidal ideation. So, the story does not directly address these issues, but it does come up when Divya refuses to go back to the land of the living and would rather stay in a limbo. She has wished to die and not exist in the world. Those things are sparingly discussed.
