Marissa and Niall have a whirlwind romance from the first night they met back in summer of 2018 before his tour kicks off a few weeks after meeting her and find themselves secretly getting married the following summer and only a few years later want to undo the "I do"

She spent so many morning waking up alone after they got married, basically watching his life through a phone screen while he's been on the road and comes to realise how one sided their relationship had become and how they can't just keep being "fine".

The minute he comes home she's instantly reminded why she fell in love with him from the start but can't deny things aren't what they used to be since Lauren came in the picture, being able to tell he loved her more the day they got married than he did while standing in front of her, and gives him a choice that drives them apart and makes everyone around them choose sides, ultimately making everyone she loved just people that she knew once.
