At night, everyone fears him for two reasons, his merciless kills of Villains, Heroes and or occasional Civilians, and because he's always active in the darkness and no one can ever see him in the light. He's dark but he also does Heroic actions in his own way, even if violence and killings are racked on his record.

Izuku Midoriya is a failed Nomu experiment from All for one but managed to escape, but not with his sanity in the good aspect, whenever his anger spikes, his sanity turns off like a switch and he's turn into a raging savage but there are ways to help keep this side of him locked up and it's personally up to the Heroes to actually help him before his sanity and possible health drop down the drain.
